Local Youth Baseball/Softball League Asking for Community Support
February 24, 2020 – Yucca Valley, California: Tri-Valley League Little is preparing for the Spring 2020 baseball and softball season. Kids can sign up through the end of February online at www.trivalleylittleleague.com.
There are still a few things Little League is working on to have another successful season. We are in serious need volunteers, sponsors, and donations.
First, we need more volunteers to coach and umpire games. Coaching and umpiring can be a very fulfilling experience. It is a great opportunity to give back to the community and help our youth learn the game.
Secondly, we need businesses to sponsor teams, purchase banners and showcase their support for our youth.
To prepare the fields for the season, we need donations (both cash and in-kind). We are looking for donations labor, clay, chalk, grass seed and equipment. Every little bit helps, even if you want to donate one bag of clay or a bag of grass seed. Please contact Richard Bradshaw at [email protected] to get more information.
Lastly, it takes a lot of water to keep the fields green. We need donations to cover our water bills. This year was a particularly impactful year with new grass on Lord Field. Water bills have topped $5,000 some months.
Registration fees alone do not cover the costs to run the league and maintain the fields. This is where support from the community has always been and continues to be necessary to provide a quality baseball/softball program for our youth in Yucca Valley and surrounding communities.
